Wood Floor Restoration – Northenby House, Newbury
The owners of this period listed manor house wanted the main reception hall’s strip wood flooring restored without moving the grand piano out of the room. The main area of the floor and edges were sanded and the piano was moved just half a metre for each phase of the process. Although this added additional time to the job, it prevented the piano having to be dismantled, relocated and reassembled or needing a retune! The piano took five men to lift and move it each time so as not to damage the new lacquer.
